Abbey has been feeling left out so we had to put some pictures up of her. And a few other generally silly pictures. I mean who needs the presents when you have the box? And how about Abbey blowing bubbles at 6 months? One of her better days!
So Kaitlyn was baptized on the 14th. Hard to believe she is all of 8 years old. She only acts like she is 14. It was a great day, with lots of friends and family there to support her.
This is how things get settled around the Robinson house. No holds barred. May the best small child win. Abbey was very excited about her front row seat.
Kaitlyn's cake as made by her fantastic mother and grandma. Presents included Scrabble Jr., Harumika Doll, scriptures, drawing books and a Webkinz. Fantastic.
A rousing night of duckpin bowling, and we had the best lane . . . ever! I always got 4-5 tries to knock all the pins down, but Ben only ever got 3. Lucky Me. We had Aunties Deb and Rosann, as well Grandma and Grandpa Dance for the party!
Next we have the Shin Sei Maru, the ship in which I only spent four grueling days chasing Typhoon Lupit, then being chased by her. Nothing like 30 foot seas to make your birthday complete. The other pictures are of the Shuri castle in Okinawa, the site of the palace of the Ryukyu kingdom, which governed the Ryukyu islands for hundreds of years in an interesting part of the world between China and Japan.
It has been a crazy few months, but we are getting caught up. Kaitlyn & Kassidy in 2nd and 1st grade respectively. Don't they look happy? Kassidy had the remains of a black eye, courtesy of her little brother and the little phone that doubles as a football.
In addition to the cabin, Uncle Bill took us out on his boat to make a few waves. He even got me up on a surf board, even though I could never really get the hang of surfing on the wake. Maybe after squeezing myself into the life jacket (think fat guy in a little coat) there wasn't enough oxygen getting to my brain. At least my kids told me afterwards that they were proud of me. And I only broke the tow rope once while trying to get up. Something to be proud of indeed. Other than that we got to attend a baptism for a cousin, and there was more family at the baptism than we usually see at our little branch. It was the first time Ariane and all her sisters and brother had been together since we got married almost 10 years ago.
