More Reunion

In addition to the cabin, Uncle Bill took us out on his boat to make a few waves. He even got me up on a surf board, even though I could never really get the hang of surfing on the wake. Maybe after squeezing myself into the life jacket (think fat guy in a little coat) there wasn't enough oxygen getting to my brain. At least my kids told me afterwards that they were proud of me. And I only broke the tow rope once while trying to get up. Something to be proud of indeed. Other than that we got to attend a baptism for a cousin, and there was more family at the baptism than we usually see at our little branch. It was the first time Ariane and all her sisters and brother had been together since we got married almost 10 years ago.

Dance Cousins Camp

At the end of July, we went to Ariane's family family reunion, commonly known as cousin's camp. The kids have 28 cousins on that side, and 21 of the 32 grandkids were at the cabin. Fortunately 3 ATVs were sent up and I had to be a good uncle and take kids for lots and lots of rides. Rough job, but I felt it my duty to be a responsible uncle. The kids seemed to have lots of fun, and it was good to see everyone. Unfortunately Ben fell in love with the ATV and he was on them almost all day, even if they weren't moving. Hopefully that will wear off in a few weeks . . . . .
