This is really how we feel about summer being over and being back in school!

Back to School

Back to School! I can't believe that summer is over(sigh).... but we are looking forward to a great year. Kaitlyn is in the third grade this year and Kassidy is in the second. Ben started pre-k and is excited to be in school like the girls! I asked him if he listened to his teacher and he said, "sometimes." So this year will be a good learning experience for Ben before Kindergarten!

Piano Recital 2010

Kaitlyn and Kassidy with their piano teacher after their recital.
The girls did great at the recital even though they were really nervous! Good job ladies!

Soccer!

It is Ben's first year of playing soccer! Ben has been my sideline buddy for a couple of years now and was very excited to get to play this year! Here is a picture of Ben going to his first practice! Good job Benny Boy!

Wheeeee!

Abigail is growing really fast! She has learned how to climb up the ladder and go down the slide all by herself. Way to go Abby!
Abby and Christian loving the Clifford's Cat! Abby loved that poor cat a little to much. I am sure she was relieved to see us leave.

We went to the mall of America in Minneapolis it is really awesome and has everything you could imagine! It has a full amusement park inside! The kids loved it and were able to ride a few rides.

Friends continued...

Here are some more fun pictures of the kids enjoying the splash pads at the parks!

Friends

On our way home we stopped in Minneapolis to see our friends the Cliffords! They were very generous to allow us to stay in their home and show us a great time! Here are our kiddos all together! Abby and Christian were both ready for naps and not too happy about standing at the fountain for one last picture.

College buddies!
Abby and I at the splash park! They have these great park's in Minnesota with playgrounds and then water features right next to them. The kids had a great time and got along really well!

Family

All of Marc's Brother's and Sisters were able to come for Grandma Rose's 90th Birthday and the Jacobson Family Reunion. It was fun to see everyone and catch up.

Grandma Rose use to make quilts for all of her children and grandchildren. Marc's sister Sara had the great idea of for her 90th Birthday making her a quilt to show her our appreciation for all the quilts she had done for us. Sara sent us the quilt blocks and we traced our hands on the quilt. Then we sent them to my talented sister-in-law Luci and she quilted it for us. As you can see it turned out very and nice and I hope Grandma Rose will enjoy it for those cold Minnesota winters! Happy Birthday Grandma! We love you.

Minnesota continued.....

These are two giant statues in downtown Bemidj. Minnesota is known for it's logging legacy and thus the legend of Paul Bunyan.

Bemidji, Minnesota was the town we stayed in on our way up to Marc' Grandmother's 90th birthday party. On our last day there we did some bumper boating and the kids had a great time! Here are some of the action shots!

Minnesota

Here is our family at the headwater's of the Mississippi. It was a fun day and amazing to see the Mississippi this small!

Kaitlyn and Abby in the Mississippi.

Kaitlyn and Kassidy with Uncle Kirk walking across the Mississippi!

The Mississippi headwaters had a nice visitors center and gift shop this is one of the statues before you hike to the headwaters!

Swimming Lessons

The kids did swimming lessons this year with our good friends the Weibells. So for two long hot weeks we hung out at the pool!(not a bad gig if you can get it) They all learned a lot and Kaitlyn and Kassidy moved up a level. On the last day we went to Rita's and had a little Italian ice to celebrate all we had accomplished!

Kassidy's Birthday!

Kassidy turned 7 on the 11th of July! It is hard to believe that she is that old. For her birthday we went out to dinner at Red Robin and went to the movie Despicable Me! Then we came back home for cake and ice cream and to open presents. Every year I ask the kids what cake they would like me to make and this year Kassidy wanted a dragon. So after a few days of searching the internet this is what we came up with. I think it turned out well. She received lots of great presents from her Grandparent's and Aunts! We love Kassidy very much she is a special part of our family!

Independance Day

We went to Annapolis to watch the fireworks being shot off from the Naval Academy! We sat near the water and had a nice view of the fireworks!

We barbecued for the fourth and were able to have Marc's sisters Sara and Debby with us. We had a great time!

Ben holding his lady liberty cone!

I always make a flag cake for the 4th. Here is this years!
We love our country!

Here are a few random pictures of Abby trying on Kaitlyn's Safari Hat! I thought she looked pretty cute!
